To advance undergraduate education and strengthen the quality assurance system, the School of Civil Engineering recently held a series of activities aimed at improving teaching and learning culture.

On May 14, the School convened a Teaching Work Promotion Meeting to discuss and plan a range of priorities, including teaching and learning culture construction, micro-program applications, practical activity planning in connection with the Yanqing Campus development, engineering accreditation training arrangements, and mid-term teaching inspections.

Regarding new program development and engineering accreditation, on May 15, training experts Zhang Yan and Wang Yifan from Chaoxing were invited for an exchange. Department heads and faculty responsible for existing or planned smart courses attended the meeting, discussing topics such as the smart classroom platform framework, AI agent functionalities, and AI knowledge bases. On May 28, representatives from Zhihuishu, including Huang Siyu and Liu Lin, visited NCUT to focus on research for new program development in the AI era and matters related to engineering accreditation.

In the area of teaching and learning culture, on May 21, all faculty of the School of Civil Engineering attended a Teaching Document Briefing and Training Session, focusing on three key documents: NCUT Undergraduate Classroom Teaching Standards, Regulations on Teaching Errors and Incidents, and NCUT Undergraduate Student Academic Management Regulations. Following the briefing, individual departments and centers held teaching seminars to exchange ideas on improving classroom teaching quality and strengthening teaching and learning culture.

Additionally, to enhance the teaching ability of young faculty, the School organized exemplary classroom observation sessions for the undergraduate course Intelligent Surveying and Mapping on May 25 and for the graduate course Principles and Applications of Building Energy Conservation on May 28.

These series of activities closely align with the fundamental goal of fostering virtue through education, covering institutional standards, digital intelligence empowerment, and practical innovation. They promote a dual improvement of teaching and management. The School of Civil Engineering continues to deepen the construction of teaching and learning culture, laying a solid foundation for improving undergraduate education quality and cultivating high-quality civil engineering talent.
